Our Story
Sonya Group's Journey Began in 1960
with Mr. Chandrakant C. Shah, a Ceramic Engineer from the USA, who laid the foundation with Ahmedabad Ceramic Industry. Over the decades, the Group diversified into insulators, sanitaryware, and exports, driven by innovation and resilience.
In 1999, the third generation, Rutuja Patel, joined the company, bringing global business acumen. In 2013, along with Rupesh Shah, she co-founded Sonya Foods Pvt. Ltd., marking our entry into the food industry with flavoured peanuts and premium nut butters.
From a small ceramic factory to a group exporting to 50+ countries, employing 500+ people across 3 advanced factories, Sonya has remained rooted in its values—quality, innovation, and trust.
Today, Sonya Foods is one of India’s leading producers of peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, and flavored peanuts, backed by cutting-edge automation, global certifications, and a passion to grow. Now with our fourth generation joining the business – Anaya Patel – the Sonya Group aspires to reach new heights whilst preserving its family values.
