Sourcing and Traceability
Our Roots in Gujarat
At Sonya Foods, we don’t just manufacture nut butters; we honor the land they come from. Gujarat is India’s premier peanut-growing hub, accounting for over 40% of the country’s production. By being located at the source, we ensure that our peanuts go from the farm to our processing facility in record time, preserving the natural oils and flavor profile.
Sourced from vetted farmers in regions like Junagadh, Rajkot, and Jamnagar.Guaranteed 100% Indian Origin.
Why Traceability Matters to Our Partners
Our "Zero-Risk" Intake Protocol
Before a single truck is unloaded, our Quality Control (QC) team conducts random sampling across the shipment. We divide the cargo into sublots to ensure the sample is statistically representative of the entire harvest.
- Aflatoxin Analysis: Testing to ensure levels are well below international safety limits.
- Count & Size Verification: Ensuring the peanuts meet our specific "Premium Grade" caliber for consistent roasting.
- Moisture Control: We verify that moisture levels are optimal to prevent any microbial growth during storage.
Once the lab samples are cleared, our technicians perform a manual physical inspection of the sublots to detect:
- Zero-Tolerance for Pests: Ensuring no live infestations.
- Mould Detection: Visual and olfactory checks for any signs of fungal activity.
- Kernel Quality: Identifying and removing shrivelled or damaged peanuts that could affect the flavor profile of our butter.
Only after the QC Department issues a formal "Approval Certificate" is the truck permitted to unload into our dedicated peanut warehouse. This prevents cross-contamination between tested and untested raw materials.
As a final safety barrier, 100% of all unloaded material undergoes a fumigation process. This eliminates any hidden biological risks, ensuring that the peanuts entering our production line are 100% clean, safe, and shelf-stable.
